Peveril Castle at Castleton

Richard and I went to another English Heritage site in Castleton called Peveril Castle.  You have to walk to the castle but the view alone is worth it.  The weather was a bit drizzly but it didn't spoil our enjoyment.

Can you see the Lion's head and the face in the rocks

Carrot and Cardamom - finished

Okay they are finished and I quite pleased with them, don't know what they taste like yet.  I will wait until Richard and the kids get in.

Carrot and Cardamom Cupcakes

Decided to have a go at some cupcakes, these are waiting for the final touch.  I hope they taste good, this is the first time I have made them.

Barnard Castle

We are going to make good use of our English Heritage membership.

On Saturday we went to Barnard Castle in Durham.  It is set on a high rock above the River Tees, until you walk around the grounds you cannot image how big the castle was in its heyday.  The castle once belonged to Richard III.

We were going to go to Middleham Castle another home of Richard III but we ended up with a flat so after changing that we decided it would be best to head on home.

How cute is this, there were loads of rabbits running around in a nearby field

Ulley Reservoir

We took another walk around Ulley last Friday, imagine our surprise when we saw Swans, Coots, Grebes and Moor Hens all nesting in the same area.

Heeley City Farm

I have lived in Sheffield for quite a number of years but I have never been to Heeley City Farm, so as we were passing the other day Richard took me in.

These little baby pigs were so adorable I just wanted to take them home — not that we have room!!!
