All Quiet on The Western Front

Menin Gate

In 2012 Richard and I did the battlefield tour, All Quiet on the Western Front.  These pictures were taken in Ypres, it is the Menin Gate and every night at exactly 8pm they hold the last post.  We were lucky enough to witness this ceremony, the road is closed an everyone gathers beneath the gate to pay their respects.  I cried my eyes out it is such a moving ceremony, the gate has the names of  British and Common Wealth soldier that died in battles around Ypres that has no know grave.
